Williamsburg: Pretty Good Brisket at Smorgasburg

Went to Smorgasburg today for the first time this summer.  The new location is nice and big and there seem to be a whole bunch of new vendors.   I only had time for a quick bite though so I decided to try Lonestar Empire, a vendor that specializes in one thing, Texas style brisket sandwiches.

The Low Smoked Texas Style Brisket Sandwich is really tiny, more like a slider.  The meat is tender but not that tasty by itself.  When you add the sweet pickles, jalapenos and onions, however, the sandwich actually becomes pretty good.  It is a nice mix of sweet and spicy and the veggies are very crunchy, giving the sandwich a nice mix of textures.  The Texas Style Mustard Potato Salad is a nice side and has tons of flavor.  It is a little sour, somewhat spicy and very tangy.  It wasn't my favorite but definitely had a lot of flavor.
